Following our last update, the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) has now approved the move from Level 2 to Level 1 dental service restrictions from 8 May 2020.
Under Level 1 Restrictions, Leichhardt Dental Surgery will resume all dental treatments from 8 May 2020.
Services that can be performed under Level 1 Restrictions
- All dental treatments using standard precautions for people who do not meet epidemiological or clinical risk factors for COVID-19 infection transmission.
Services that are restricted/defer treatment under Level 1 Restrictions
- Defer non-urgent treatment for people who DO meet epidemiological or clinical symptom criteria for COVID-19 risk.
- Urgent dental treatment for people who DO meet epidemiological or clinical symptom criteria for COVID-19 risk or confirmed as a COVID-19 case provided as per ADA Managing COVID-19 Guidelines.
Under the NSW Government and CMO directives, we still follow the strict safety guidelines of social distancing, pre-screening for illness and symptoms, check for confirmed COVID-19 test results and the use of pre-procedural mouth rinse.
